Our Campus

Welcome to Western College Allow us to take you for a tour of our facility. The spring and summer of 2007 was a monumental year in our College's history. We acquired a facility and were able to renovate to our specific requirements of form and function into what we feel a health care educational facility should be. With reverence to the historical roots of Massage Therapy, various areas of the new facility thematically reflect the ancient sites in Greece and Turkey, where western style massage has it's roots. These ancient ruins are termed Asclepion, for the locations on which many were built were originally temples or sites of worship to the Greek god of healing, Asclepius.

The remaining pillars at the ancient Asclepia in Kos Greece where Hippocrates first practiced and taught massage technique are represented in the main Practical Classroom as well as the front painted facade.

The column theme is also carried into the reception area and other class spaces as well.

The entrance way to the 'Sacred Healing Tunnel' which is over 2000 years old in this picture is reflected in the main hallway below and the lower level stairwell.

We feel the environment in which our students come to is capable of enhancing the learning experience. Massage is a very special vocation and we are proud that our program and school reflects the quality of the learning experience. 'The Sacred Tunnel' Beneath the Temple of Asclepius, leading from the Sacred Precinct to the Temple of Telesphorus

Telesphorus was the son of Asclepius. His name in Greek means 'Bringing Fulfillment". In keeping with the functional elements of our new design, the students are afforded a spacious and comfortable lounge with kitchen facilities and a big screen tevevision.

The Lecture classroom is outfitted with the latest in audio and visual technology to afford a wide variety of teaching supplements.

The Western College is located in a peaceful neighborhood, one block away from the largest intercity park in western Canada, Wascana Park. Students often stroll, rollerblade or cycle on the bike path which runs along the creek.

Future plans include an outdoor classroom as well as a garden/reflection area.
